Las Vegas

Anyone been to or live around Las Vegas? My friends and I are planning a trip sometime in early July (I know it'll be hot...) after we all graduate college this year. I was hoping someone from NICO would have some insight on good places to stay, times to buy tickets, places to see, things to do etc etc etc... Any ideas?

Just search the internet for Las Vegas there are probably promotional packages. Airfare should be dirt cheap. They practically pay you to go there. I've stayed at the Mirage it was pretty nice, but there are alot nicer. You really don't spend much time in your room. Just to take a nap and shower, unless you run out of money. They you can hang out at the topless pool at one of the casinos.

The 2004 240sx convention is in vegas this year last I heard. Should just wait till then to go.

I went to vegas over the summer....

Its really expensive if you stay on the strip...... If you wanna go cheaper, then goto downtown.....

I stayed at the mirage, and I wasnt impressed..... it was a nice place, but for less money you can go and stay at the much nicer (and bigger) mandalay bay....

BTW.... I went to the last Sigfried and Roy show!!!! I have the tickets and programs to prove it!

I was there last year.We stayed at the Sahara. Very neat hotel- They have a giant dining hall below the hotel- also 2 arcade rooms and a room with like 12 Formula 1 style VR racing games. You and all your friends can race and stuff. My family and I did it and it was pretty sweet. I wish I knew how to drive stick back then

Just going into the hotels and stuff is awesome; to check out their casinos. When you get a chance, I highly suggest going to Caesar's Palace and checking out their shopping mall. While you're in there you should eat at Planet Hollywood. Lots of neat stuff in there, plus they are known for their bussing abilities (the guys run out there and bus the table in like under 1 minute)- impressive to watch.

Should be a neat trip all around. Plenty to keep you busyHope that helps.

The places I have stayed at:

1. The Bellagio has amazingly large and comfy rooms! The canal area under the building is fun to walk around in! Normal prices are high, but they occasionally have specials for $99 a night.

2. MGM Grand. Neat and large. Albeit a bit dated now. Good shows.

3. Caesar's Place. Best gamb|ing areas by far.

FWIW, my all-time favorite place to stay on the Las Vegas Strip has closed down. The Desert Inn was by far the quietest place to stay and get away from the noise in the evenings - and yet within walking distance of all the good places to see.

if you're going for the party, nothing beats the hard rock hotel on just about any night of the week. the women are unbelievable!!!! i won't even mention their pool in the afternoon. WOW the last time i was there i met some of the cast of the sopranos who were partying at the hard rock casino (drea de motta looks even better in person!!!). not the fanciest, or most luxurious hotels in vegas, but if you're between 21 and 40 and with your friends...........mandalay bay was nice (rumjungle club-cool and red square restaurant was great). bellagio was very nice. the venitian was very nice.the palms is supposed to be the new party spot.the voodoo lounge at the rio was a cool bar.doesn't matter if you go in the summer (heat), stay by the pool all day, then you're indoors at night!!!!even if you stay at a place off the strip, you can just get taxi's to wherever you want to go.oh yea, right down the street from the hard rock is a morton's steak house, and across the street is club paradise (if you like the neckid' hussies!!!!!).jeffps-your level of fun depends on how fat your wallet is!!!!pps- fred, they're all pretty much half-naked!LOL

Hell ya Fred, I remember when I went there about 2 months ago (only 3 hour drive so I go a lot) there was a one of the hottest blonde waitresse I've ever seen She was wearing that oh so tight custom they wear yowzers Obviously she was fine enough for me to remember her :pface Mandalay Bay is a nice hotel, but man that buffet is a rip off! Anyway, I would recommend Mirage because of the kick a$$ pool... But hotels on the strip are usually 200+ bucks a night on weekends. As far as weather, It's not too hot In early July, just watch out for August. I went to lake Havisu this past August and It was a blistering 118! I don't know how you AZ and NV guys deal

There is a place in Vegas where you can get 3 pancakes, 3 eggs, and 3 pieces of bacon for $1.99. I think it's Whiskey Petes or Sams Town or something. I can't remember the name of the place, I just remember it had a name in it.

Replace Mandalay with Vegas..

I stayed at the Mandalay a couple of years ago. The roooms were pimp, and the entire hotel has all the ammenities.

Last time I went, I stayed at the Rio. It was pretty much in the game at that point in time. I'm not sure if it still goes off like that, but if it's even half as fine female filled as it was when I was there (during the week no less), then it's worth stopping by to check out.

I always stay at the Mirage. I am comp'd and have 4 free nights right now. How great is that? I can fly to Vegas for under $100 and stay free for 4 nights. Anyway, pretty much everyplace on the strip is nice. There is plenty to do everywhere, at all times. Great clubs, great food, great women, great fun. Enjoy.

I was there for SEMA this year.

Went to the club SEVEN one night, it was a decent place. Good size. It was an industry party so wasnt the normal crowd vegas would have, so was an ok time.

Went to Ghost Bar in Palms. Very high class atmosphere, outdoor bar on the 55th (i think) floor is kind of a cool experience. Nice lounge type place with older crowd.

Went to the club Rain in the Palms. Good club. Crowded, younger crowd. Good dancers on swings in the air. Dark, fire, rain, etc...cool place.

For the strip club night went to The Library off the strip. get more one on one attention

I heard from people that Hard Rock is good also on any night, but didnt hit it up.

hehe just came back from there a few weeks ago, club seven closed or moved man, now it's just a big tourist shop, heh. but yah vegas rules! there is a reason they call it sin city, man oh man. yah and because of the gamb|ing, you get so much free stuff, especially drinks. definitely going to the 240 convention, and yah mandalay bay is one of the best, the pool, oh man, the women, can't wait to go back. so far, 2 of my friends have gotten married there, haha, the bachelor parties....man oh man,.
