Largest turbo in stock location

Stock RB20DET motor. What's the largest turbo that will fit, larger than I could ever need on a stock motor? T3/T04E 50 trim is what I am thinking about.

i test fitted a t3/t4 on my rb25.. the front housing rubbed a lil bit on the manifold.. soo we are making an adapater box to move the turbo out a bit too add space to add a external waste gate...

There is only a clearance problem on the manifold side, nowhere else? Top, bottom, outside?

How about adding a T3 exhaust flange between the turbo and the manifold?

thats what we are doing... making a t3 flange box.. so a external wastegate can be added also..

If you add a T3 spacer inbetween the turbo and manifold, your ordinary T3/T4 hybrid turbo will fit - now you just need to find longer bolts to do that and two gaskets.
