Thanks in advanced

if no reliable answers here for a while -1) get advice from more than one good tire dealer (know the actual rim's inside width ) ,2) OR just mount ONE and see how it actually fits a Fr & Rr position, If they look real close when "eyeballed" unmounted along side of Fr & Rr fenders. Tirerack.com also has specs for min/max recomended rim widths per specific tires/Brands of their large inventories , yours may be listed? Also they have "alternate" & "plus size" calculator too.

Not sure how close the chassis in an '02 is to the '06, so take this advice carefully. I am using Nissan Maxima 18 by 7½ alloy, six spoke rims with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires (P245R18 by 18") on our 2006 Altima. The tires fit and do not rub. This combination was selected to make the speedometer more accurate (GPS indicates 101 km/hr when the speedometer says 100 km/hr or about 1% over. As the tires wear the values will be even closer.)

You and I differ in direction, I would lower the Altima. And our roads up here are not any better than down there. For winter we use 16 inch five spoke Altima rims with Michelin X-Ice tire (P225/60R16"). Both sets of tires, summer and winter, are almost exactly the same overall diameter and both are recommended highly.

No response from the original post. The tire size calculator at (https://tiresize.com/calculator/ ) shows, based on the tires we have on our 2006 Altima, that either 245/50R17 (26.6") or 225/55R17 (26.7") should fit.
