Hey hey! I've got a rb25det with forged wiseco pistons in my 240. Everything else is stock. Stock rods. Stock crank. What is the largest shot of nitrous I can safely use? This is a wet kit btw with fuel jets to match the nitrous jets. Also I a have a 255lph walbro fuel pump. Is that going to be able to supply enough fuel to the engine and the nitrous? Will I have to use a higher octane gas? I'm currently running 93 pump gas on my rb. Thanks so so much.

I think it depends on your injectors, current whp documented and a turbo thats capable of the extra power that will be made after the shot. I would think 100-150 but what do I know....

x2 large shots of nitrous do bad things to your engine in the long run. I ended up weakening the rods on my chevy and then kaboom. Unless this is a drag car I'd advise against a large shot.

factory cast pistons will not stand up to the temps that nitrous produces...i sugguest that unless you build your engine...you dont use nitrous

me personally i'll be running a small shot..like a 50-55 just for fun. it'll help turbo spool too.

There was a guy on hybridz running 525whp worth of boost on a stock bottom end with a new headgasket, and he also had a 125 shot for at the drag track and he had it dynod at like 670whp or something like that. He ended up bending rods and minor ringland damage. But that was a good tune, which is key to any engine living. That's a pretty extreme example but it just shows what the stock engine is really capable of.

I would not run over a 100-125 shot. IMO 200hp+ nitrous and 300whp worth of boost is asking for trouble because nitrous adds tonns of torque and stress and thats what breaks parts.

Your best bet is to get a turbo and use a 50-60hp shot to spool the turbo. It works great and you will use far less nitrous.

Hey thanks for all the posts. Yeah I think i'll wait until next summer when I have the funds for a real upgrade. I've spent all my money just getting the thing running. Heck maybe i'll just use a 75 shot for fun until then.
