Heads up

So far the only way to see if yours is really affected is to call a dealer or go to Nissan's web site and sign up for automatic notification.

"The Japanese automaker said in a Nov. 16 letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the recall affects Altima and Sentra vehicles from the 2002 and 2005-2006 model years equipped with a 2.5 liter engine".

Yup, they don't make them like they used to. The bulletproof SR was a dream

True. The engine is no VQ but it's still a rather good 2.5 engine; much better than some 2.4 and 2.5 engines out there.

I'm still glad I got a 2.5. The recall is for the older engines. Plus, I get better gas mileage than I would with the 3.5 and that's very important to me, especially in LA traffic.

It's horrible. Commuting to work, commuting home from work, going to school, etc, traffic everywhere. Traffic at all places and at all times of day, except after 10pm. I guess that's the trade-off for living in a big city. Oh, and the fact that people here don't know how to drive.

Yeah, I was shocked when I first moved there and found out that there was traffic at 8pm!! The 5, 10, 101, 110, 405, etc. are always congested! Sad thing is, Hawaii (Oahu) is becoming the same way. We have one major freeway which seems to be congested all times of the day as of the last couple of years. The island I live on has a population of about 1 million, and that's not including the tourist count on any given day.
