Large emissions leak

2001 QX4 has set code for large emissions leak. Unit was used by PO mostly to tow and launch a small boat. Are there any common areas I should be checking for the leak? I started with a small leak and changed the fuel cap and I have done a basic look at the rear lines near the canister. Don't have a smoke machine available. Thanks.

The primary suspects would be a cracked evap canister or a broken/detached hose between the canister and fuel tank. The filler and vent tubes are also a possibility.

Thank you VStar! I see no degraded/detached/broken hoses anywhere so far. I will try to inspect filler and vent hoses next.

Nothing found so I guess I'll just live with it. Being a greenie I kinda hate this but without a smoke machine this could be hard to find. Might break down and buy a cheap smoke machine but there are so many, which one?

Some parts stores will rent you one and you can get a cheap one on Amazon for $80, but here's a nice hack. Friend of my son in law built one and I'm very impressed. Mineral oil works great, but I suggest skipping the tire pump and use a cheap fish tank aerator instead:
