hello all, I have just got my 1991 Cima running. It was abandoned in a shed in Barbados (Caribbean) for the last 7 or 8 years. It needed a fuel pump, starter motor and battery. The left front suspension system has drained the hydraulic fluid and the car rides on its gut.
Can someone please tell me the meaning of the fuse diagrams and send some info on the suspension system. My car is a Japanese home model and almost everything is in Japanese and i have no manual.
It is a real sweet car with electronics overkill. The V8 is ever so nice and idled well on start up after all those years.
Please send me any links or advice you may have.

Thanks,
Lookadahdeh

:welcome: to NICO! If you could post up a picture of the fuse diagram, that would be a good start on the translation. We didn't have an equivalent to your car in the US market in 1991, so we don't have service manuals availabe - but we'll do what we can! The "typical" fix for active suspension cars is to convert them to a standard suspension setup if you have access to the parts.

thanks for the quick reply. Posting an image from my computer seems to be a problem for this site but i will try. Are you saying my low ground clearance with this car is terminal? Before i get into replacing suspensions, I would like to understand the basics of this system. Is the ride height maintained by an on board pump? i filled the reservoir with some hydraulic fluid and started the car up but no change. It is extremely cramped under the bonnet and even changing the fuel filter and oil filter was a challenge. I am flying blind and so any info and/advice is greatly appreciated. Failing that, what components should i be looking at to replace the suspension?
Thanks for your replies.

hello again, to date, I had filled the suspension system with hydraulic fluid and saw no results initially but now after restarting from an overnight wait, the car is up considerably and seems to be at a more normal ride height.
thanks again for your help.
looka.
