Lane departure warning (LDW) w/s camera

So I know that what my M37 has is the premium package...which DOES NOT include the Lane Departure Warning...right??? So why do I still have the camera on the rear view mirror base?

It's probably one of those things where they pre-wire some cars for XM but don't actually install XM...in this case it's they give you the camera, but not the rest of the system lol.

It would be awesome if that video feed was coming in behind the head unit and we could tap into it.

My M56 has the Premium Package and I have not noticed a camera on the
mirror. I will have to take another look.

I was wondering about if you could access the video too. It's probably low quality though anyway.

I have the lane depature on mine it's kind of annoying. When I bought it they had electrical tape covering the camera. I love the blind spot warning though.

I looked at the wiring diagram earlier and it appears to have 12v, ground, and two data lines. This means it almost certainly is a proprietary design and cannot be hijacked for use as something else.

If anyone has found a picture of this camera I would like to see it.
