Lancer Evo?

OK, I was watching an auto show on ESPN, and the guy said that the USDM Lancer Evo would have a Turbo 2.0 that would push 271 H.P....is that right? If so, I'm gonna go out and get me one...lol

yeah last time i read its a turbocharged 2.0 liter pushing out 271 which a bit weaker than previous models which put out 276 i believe on Evo 7 and other models but im pretty sure than can be changed just b.c of emission standards

I think every automotive magazine on the planet has done their STI v. Evo article. Even my granny knows that the Evo recently hit these shores.

Actually, it seems like the release of the STI and the upcoming '04 WRX has pushed down the price of the '03s. I've heard of dealers selling the WRX below invoice.

I was just jokin' with ya anyway. The Evo is definitely direct competition for the STI...I hope that means they'll start a price war.

I can't wait until Mitsu starts running the Evo again in WRC. Then we'll see some Mitsubishi vs. Subaru action.

F.Y.I. the 4g63 motor in the evo is, more or less the same 4g63 found in the awd eclipse/talons. it's just tweaked a bit more from the factory.

yeah the lancer evo is supposed to be one badass car, the only thing wierd is that people seem to get such varied 1/4 mile times,

most magazines say 13.4, then i read a article in the papers where the author says that he only got like 14.0 and that the other people who were testing it with him all got around the same, and there was another thread were a NICO member said he saw one at the track do only around 14's

It's a horizontally opposed AKA boxer AKA flat 4 (in the Sti's case) engine. Boxster is some made up Porsche stuff. Boxer + Roadster = Boxster, or so the story goes.

I watched a show today that ran the Evo versus the STi, the STi was recorder at 13.1 and Evo at 13.4

after seeing both in person... the lancer evo can do a 4 wheel drift around corners with 4 full sized adults inside...take corners around 80-90 and the sti can do about the same...looks wise...id go with the sti. interior...i still have to get a ride in his sti, but i think the sti has the better of the interiors too....wat would i buy? yeah, the lancer is a wee bit faster...but id buy the STI myself...

i just drooled over these cars at the meet... the sti edges out an E46 SMG M3 with Dinan stage I software by about a car length....
