Hmmm, this thread looks familiar.

Lucky you Repo, id want to test drive that all day, maybe take it off road and pretend im in the WRC. oh yeah 0-60 in like 5.7 or 5.8 or less, around there though. The Evo is also the most powerful 4 banger to come off the production line. In the world.

A friend of mine is the sales manager at the dealership his name is Matt Damos. He told me they have two coming in about a week or so. I saw that mid galant you were talking about. Was it blue? If it was it was a VR-4 but it belonged to somebody. I was thinking about myself

Are you sure it was a VR4?I saw it one day then went back like 2 days later. The car I looked at when I went back was not a Vr4 but It was in a dif spot so who knows? LOL Yeah those AWD turbo VR4's are cool.Good Sleeper due to the fact that most people dont even know they ever made any...trouble is that most get ragged out bad!:) The EVO will rock! I herd that the dealers are going to be marking them up though :bsface Like the 350z'sIf you want one of the first 6000 of them youll have to pay an extra 5k.:(

I think you're right. I looked up a few cars and I was going to try and get you on this one, but the only two that I found that came close were the Ford RS200 and the Lancia Delta S4 They were both about 250hp stock and 450 in rally trim. All they did was to lower comepression and just about double the boost. I can't wait to drive and EVO either.

it's a shame that mitsu brings the evo to the states for 2003, but at the same time withdrawals from WRC this coming year. They didn't do well at all last year either. Wonder if I can get one of those Puegots imported???

yup those are it. One of em won the last WRC season. I think Ford and Subura placed afterwards.

They are taking the year off to do a development program. They also swept the Dakar Rally as well. The automaker to watch in the WRC will be Citroën this year. They have a strong team. I prefer Subaru though.

There is a lot of talk about the new Evo 8 that will hit dealerships soon, but just wait until April. The new STi will be in dealerships and I guarantee these cars will be hot. They say the car will be cheaper than the Evo and it will actually sport a 2.5 turbo boxer engine with a six speed. Evo will make 271hp and 273 lb/ft of torque. The STi will make 300hp and 300 lb/ft of torque, even without a front mount intercooler! http://www.impreza.subaru.com/...i.jsp

Yeah, it’s always good to pimp one of your big brothers. :ylsuper

at least the sti will have a limited slip front diff. evo VIII's got an open diff on the front for american market. i'd rather get the active yaw control system japan gets, with helical front, electronic center and hydraulic rear diff. apparently they wanted to keep cost down and fit a larger fuel tank for america. any chance of putting the evo VII titanium turbo (which is also twin scroll) in place of the VIII's cast unit?

I am debating between getting (possibly) the sti or the evo. I like both of them but the one thing that really gets me is that they are four door. Does this have something to do with them being rally cars or what. I just hate driving people and having 4-doors, couldn't they save weight by making 2-dr models. I just can't stand em. Any suggestions/comments?

4-doors rock!LOL I got the Spec V over the RSX mainly because its a Nissan but also due to the 2 extra doors.Makes it easy to get stuff in and out of.I like the looks of both the EVO and STI.I never thought about a 2 door model.HRMM that might be cool.

I think making them both 4 door sedans also helps with insurance.

Hey Matt,I agree. I was hoping when the Suby came out, they would have a 2 dr. IMO it just looks sportier. But the 4 dr look has grown on me. 4 dr's make better sleepers, too...

Im glad we finally got the Evo over here. I'm ready for a price war between the WRX and Evo. Maybe then I could afford one. Maybe not...
