I WAS DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR STARTED LAGGING A LOT...THE MORE THROTTLE I GAVE IT, LESS RPMS...THAN FINALLY AT A RED LIGHT. IT CUT OFF...I COULDNT GET IT BACK ON...IT WOULD CLICK...JUST NO CLICK..."REAR, REAR, REAR" NO "VROOM" I PUSHED IT OUT OF THE STREET AND STOPPED...THAN I TRIED TO START IT AGAIN...IT STARTED...BUT VERY LOW RPMS. IF I GAVE IT ANY GAS IT WOULD CUT OFF...A GUY THAT HELPED ME PUSH IT SAID IT WAS THE FUEL FILTER. SO I BOUGHT A NEW FILTER...A 300ZX OEM FILTER...NOW IT WONT START AT ALL...IT SOUNDS LIKE IT WANTS TO BUT CANT...FUEL PUMP PROBLEM? VAC LEAK? IGNITION SYSTEM? FUEL FILTER? PLEASE HELP THANKS...

lack of gas , get a fuel pressure gauge on it and see what your pressure is.

let it run for a while to see if the click goes away. its prob smoking because you partially flooded it. i know it sounds wierd, but sometimes cars that dont get enough fuel to run will still get some and flood.

When the pressure is low the spray pattern of the injectors becomes weak [drips in rather then sprays in]and the fuel does not become atomized properly therefore it wont ignite and will still puddle in the cyl.
