*56k Warning* This is the history of Skyline (not GT-R) in pictures.

Surprisingly the Nissan Skyline started in 1957-1963 as the Prince Skyline. Even then it was beautiful and the legend starts. Chassis code ALSI 1st generation. The second generation was much smaller and even then Nissan was ready to gear the car towards stardom. From 1963-1968 the chassis code S50.Sport Model exceeded and GT came (front)RearAdvertisement of dead bugs I thinkOn your mark, get set,Looks like a James Bond carThe drive to school will never be the sameClassyThe beginning of a monster engineFuture racecar driver!

With declining sales Nissan revamped the whole car. The turbo and the infamous 4 Skyline taillights are born. From 1977-1981 the fifth generation C210/HGC210/HGC211 Skyline. Side Note: I’ve read stories where a guy in Japan has bought one of these cars and wants to paint this car a different color. EVERY shop that he went to in Japan refused to paint the car other than the color it originally was. That’s how much respect they have for this car.Optional 8-TrackAgain simple but elegant. Anyone else notice the “S” is similar to the “S” from Silvia?Bucket seats Gorgeous bodylines in the 2000GT TurboOn the roadFour door beautyTurbo PowerSchematicsBeautiful bucket seat standing alone

The dawn of a new era was starting for the Skyline and you can see where it is starting to take shape into what it is today. The R30/DR30 chassis was revamped yet again in this 6th generation Skyline from 1981-1985.GreyInstrument panelGrip PowerGT steering wheel shotRegular steering wheel shotStarting to look familiar yet?Plush seats

In 1998-2000 the world changed. The R34 was born and it was the 10th generation in the Skyline legacy. ATTESSA and RB26DETT was now offered and it is my favorite of all styles even in 4 door.In natureSeatingBlack BeautyThat’s right it doesn’t have to be auto, you can always switch it over.Off the ground blinding HID’sWell-rounded seatsPurpleI-6

Well that’s it guys. I hope you all like this history lesson as well. I was going to include V-spec, V-spec II as well as Nur-spec and all the other various popular sport editions but we all know what they look like.

That's not quite right, ATTESSA and RB26DETT were first offered in R32 back in 1989.

Beautiful pictures.

i really dislike all of the skylines except for the R34 body style. Even the new infinity "skyline" is kind of momish. Im sure its fast as hell though. By the way how come not very many tail light shots? That's what makes the car!! especially for the R34, there wasn't one!

I've seen nearly all of those models first hand since the 4th on up. I also saw one 3rd gen. All are pretty cool looking cars.

I have to add a couple of things...The HR31 also had a RB20DET. The R32 was actually built until 1994 and overlapped with the R33 production. Nissan did the same thing with the R34 and the V35 Skylines.

96GTR LM: Are you implying that you actually own a R33 GTR LM? 1 of 98 built?
