so i went to change my coolent temperature sensor on my l28et. at first i couldn't find it. then i saw this unti that looks kinda like it(at least the clip was the right fit). i proceeded to try to take it off and it snapped. it is not made to be removed b/c there is no threads. oops.

1. what is the piece called that i broke the sensor off of?2. wtf does it do? (its got this spring loaded port with a sensor inside)3. is it the same on an n/a l28e?3. where is the coolent temp sensor?

came from here

the broken piece is your FICV, nto a big deal it only helps for cold starts, as for the temp sensor, are you looking for the temp sender for the gauge? thats located on the bottom of the thermostat housing, got one green wire coming out of it, if you're looking for the one for the ecu then it is either on the botom of the thermostat housing but it has a plug that looks like an injector plug, if nto there then it's in the passanger side fo the cylinder head between the spark plugs for #5 and #6

I wasn't sure of they were the same but they work the same, it lets extra air in when cold for fast idle, as the temp rises ti closes, nto needed just makes for easier cold starts
