There's a difference on the timing cover. It doesn't quite match up with the cylinder head and the little bolts are on different places. That old classic Bob Waar book discussed it; if I can find it ... there it is How to Hot Rod and Race your Datsun
Though you have a single chain/double chain also to deal with. You may need to use an L20B timing cover and change the chain sprocket gear.
I planted the Z22 internals, i.e. crank, rods, pistons, oil pickup and pan, in an L20 block. Needed to shave the tops of the conrod bolts a bit to clear the bottom of the cylinder bore. Had L28 intake valves, a 280 degree cam and a pair of 40mm Weber sidedrafts, and she was fun
The L20B came from a Skyline but they were also in the Laurel
