L20-B MPG

whats up everybody! i'm new to the forum, and i was wondering if anyone knows how many mpg's the old carburetor version of the L20-B that came from nissan 720s got. i currently have one in my datsun 510 and am trying to pick whether that or my 02 mazda protege is going to be my daily driver. i've searched all over the forum and on google and haven't found anything on mpg.

I doubt you will find a real world MPG rating for that old engine. Truth is most MPG ratings are based on statistics only, not (volume of fuel) / (distance driven) which is how most of us figure it out.

Best guess on an old L20 is the mid to low 20 MPG range. I had a NAPZ 2.4 in my 720 4x4 that got about 23MPG if I was easy on the pedal ....16-18 if I was in a rush.

Dam I miss my old 720

alright, that helps alot. i'm guessing 23 is probably city mileage? either way, it looks like i'll be driving the 510 a heck of a lot now (considering my dad was trying to give me crap about it gettin 15 mpg). thanks!

23 would be highway... I dont even get 23mpg in my hardbody with a KA... But I get about 31 highway driving...You might be lucky to get 15 in traffic...
