Hi guys,Ive got an R30 skyline Im thinking about turboing.I once had a 78 skyline that I turboed using a l24 block and some imported manifolds and a t03 of a fj20,with after market injection.The head I used was stamped P30A and had large ports and hydraulic lifters.Does any one know what this head was off?I wouldnt mind trying to find a L28et either from the us or japan, does any one know a good source for these motors considering It has to be sent OS.I know Im probably better of with the rb but an L series will bolt straight in.

I owned a R30 Paul Newman series while I lived in Japan. I know that most of the turbo engines came with a P90 head. It's the low compresion head. As far as getting one get some of the Z forums. zcar.com is a good one.

seems kinda familiar, I know austrailia did not get ehe L28ET which came with the P90A head, same volume as a P79 but without the restrictive sleaving, however austrailia did get a 6 cylinder L20ET wondering if that might have been the head for the 2 liter austrailian turbo 6 ? ( or you might simply remember the P90A as a P30A?)(P30 was an airplane wasn't it?)I'd bet if you offered a trade of an RB parts not avilable in the states for a P90A head and or some L28ET parts you'd have tons of takers

and I think the "A" suffix indicates that it used hydraulic lifters

sorry guys I meant to type P90A.Thanks for the help ,every time I told someone here my L series had hyd lifters they thought I was full of it.Aus never got any L series turbos.My r30 has a L24e and the 280z's had L28E,all the rest were l24 carbs.Now Ive had a look around a few sites I wouldnt mind a 2 seater 280zxt as all our 280's were 4 seaters.Theres plenty of stuff coming in from japan and the US all the time.I'm not sure whether i'd be better off with a fairlady(expensive but rhd)or a US 280 and convert it.(heaps cheaper but a pain in the ***) Or maybe even a z31 200ZR, decisions decisions.....
