Okay guys...here's another one that might help the guys that are keeping their E1's running.  I don't know if replacement pumps are hard to get, but since I've had an E1 and a couple of J series rigs that had electric pumps installed, I'm guessing they are.

I noticed that the fuel pump on one of my E1's looked awfully familiar.  I took some pics.....here they are.

The piece above/behind the pump is a heat sheild.  I'm guessing there should be some insulation on there of some kind, but it was off both of mine.

The one on the right is the E1 and on the left is the L series pump.  Basically, the arm is the only thing that's different.

Here you can see that even the pivot pin is in the right spot.  So, drive out the pin and switch arms.  That's going to be a pretty stout spring to fight against, but should be possible.

The top of the pump can be re-clocked to put the fittings where you need them.

Mike thanks once again for taking the time to do all these comparisons/ parts swaps. Good to know that it may be easier to keep my E-1 going with mor ecommon & easier to find parts.

Okay...I've been working on the other E1 motor and this one has, what I think, is a stock pump.  Not sure yet if the arm swap will work on this one, but I'll let you know when I have a chance to check it.

Went to order an L series fuel pump and I figured I'd check on a J series while I was at it.  Turns out the J series is cheaper and it's identical to the one on the left of my previous pics.  So, stock pumps are still available for the E1's!  It was around $40.

It's in the middle box.  I'm posting the pic for the part # reference.  Oh....the water pump is a stocker too...was less than $30(no fan clutch) and the other box is the upper control arm bushings for a 520...should fit just fine.  I'm only using them as a reference to make some out of delrin :)    Basically, I just told them it was a '68 521, which still had the J13 in it.  According to my research online, the J13 is a step up from the E1.....only real change was the stroke/bore...one of them....don't remember since it didn't matter.
