Well I started messing around with led's and so far have completed one sidemarker and I'm 95% done with one turn signal. Here are some pics.

Side marker:

Turn signal:

Controller for the turn signal:

Should have the turn signal done by tomorrow night along with some comparison pics with the signal. The controller for the turn signal is needed because the light is dim when the parking light is on and lights up brighter when you signal. All info on how to retro leds can be found here http://www.hidplanet.com

Awesome! How much would I have to pay you to get a set of Pignose LED turn signals. Hahah, just kidding... I would buy them though...

A few years ago I wondered if there was a kit or something so I could do that with the tail lights on the Rover. I guess now I know.

Good job dude, get us some pics when it's finished.

Haha, I thought the same thing. I got bored a couple weeks ago and designed a pretty simple FSM in Verilog for synchronized tail lights on the S13. I would build it, but meh.

Looking good OP.

Damn, thats nice. I really need to spend some time working no my electrical skills so I can pull off neat **** like that. I allways get too frustrated and just quit halfway through. Thats like one of my weakest areas.

Wow, I didn't even think about using a breadboard. That's pretty slick. I need to get back to working on all the donated tails that I got..

Something possibly worth mentioning. You can string 4 LED's in a row and totally not need resistors in line. Just throw one across the main circuit to keep the blinking going at the right speed.

Just my $.02

lol, yes it is. 451M's are so nice to work with IMO. you can use them for so many other things, its nuts. car audio/security is my daily grind. for now... i wanna get into bodywork
