besides failing to use the search on what the difference is between and axle back and a cat back, or being ambiguous on what you mean you could just send kyle an email, which would be faster and you would not spam the board.

What do you mean by differences, sound, cost, or do you need to know the actual difference, where the axel back is the muffler and back, or the cat back being the exhaust system from the Catalytic converter and back?

I think I found a link using the Flashing Red Search Engine regarding your question.

This link talks about the defference between at Cat back and Axle Back.....performance wise. Weather or not you have a 2.5 or 3.5, the difference between the Cat and Axle Backs will not vary much between the 2 different engines.

No worries man, you're not wasting my time. This is what forums are for. I gaurantee there are 100 more people out there that have the exact same questions you have.

As far as the difference between axle back and cat-back goes. Cat-backs are complete exhaust systems from the catalytic converters back. They will increase horsepower and change the sound of the exhaust. An axle back is basically new mufflers and tips. Realistically it is designed to change the sound and looks of the car with out spending as much money as you would on a complete cat-back. As far as performance goes, you can expect a mild increase due to the free flowing mufflers, however a complete cat-back will definitely yield a larger gain in power!

It's not that big of a deal....I had trouble looking things up when I was a newbie on here....but after being on the site for a while, I learned how to do some new things (like searches).....you'll get it too.

I looked it up for you, no time wasted, I hope this answered your question.
