Mini update:
School and work have been taking up most of my time lately, but I did manage to get out and work on the old problem child for a few hours the other night, with mixed results:
As I may have mentioned before, when I tried to install my SS lines with the Z brakes a while back, the fittings were completely rusted solid. after working with PB Blaster and a torch for a while I finally just bit the bullet and cut the fitting off the hardline, this is what I was left with:
Next, I bent the line straight out so I could get enough room to slide the new fitting on and the flaring tool on over that:
Re-flaring the cut hard line:
The result:
Now I was finally able to install the SS line and new rotor/caliper
Sorry for the crappy picture quality, camera phone, bad light, shaky hands lol.
So everything was hunkie dorie until I went to bleed the system last night, bought new speed bleeders for all four corners, highly recommend btw, but the rear bleeder screws were COMPLETELY seized, well that figures. So getting them ripped out of there by any means necessary is today's project, wish me luck.
EDIT: I no longer recommend the check valve speed bleeders. Gave me nothing but trouble, just get a friend to help
Oh and just a little preview of coming attractions:
