OK, every park I've looked into that have grills (that so happen to be strategically placed right by shelters/pavillions) is wanting some serious $$$ to reserve the shelter/pavillions, if available(example $90 for 6 hours at one park). I looked at 2 more places today. One is Chenoweth Park off Billtown road, they have enough picnic tables and grills (not under a pavillion that I think we could make it work - down side is lack of parking. The second is Jeffersontown Veterans Memorial Park, but I have to call the City of J-town tomorrow to see if we can get one of the pavillions, without it costing $$$.

Sooooo if anyone has any other ideas, please feel free to share. Other parks I've looked at that didn't pan out are: Coxs' Park, Floyd's Fork, Joe Creason, Eva Bandmen (?sp), Fishermans Lake, Taylorsville Lake, Seneca, Cherokee, and Long Run (and probably a few others I can't remember right now). Taylorsville Lake was nice, but it's a little too far away from civilization if we needed to run to the store for something.

My brother is getting married this weekend, so I am unable to continue driving around the city looking at parks. I know we need to get something finalized soon, so I would appreciate anyone helping with this.

I was thinking the same thing...

Are we gonna do a dealy where we bring money and someone runs and gets food (I pre-call NOT IT), or should we bring something.

I can bring a gas grille (a mini one) if someone has some propane (in the small tanks)...

Hey guys. I was going to wait until after this weekend to get a better idea of how many people we're expecting. At that point, I'll make a decision on what where going to do, food wise. I do appreciate your offering though.

Thanks,

Scott

ImportantMay22nd cookout memo:

BYOSBring Your Own Seating

Nissan Public Service Announcement:It would also be wise to bring coolers of extra water or sports drinks, and sunscreen judging by the forecast.

The first person to post and “acquire” any “stray” picnic tables (2 table minimum, not applicable to tables within 300 feet) in the park gets lunch on me.

I plan on being at the park around 10:00AM to hold a spot. I drive a lowered, white, `97 Maxima with tinted windows (not Cullen’s N2O powered beast…the slow one…lol). There is lots of space if anyone wants to bring volleyball, horse shoes, dodge ball, whatever. Also, if someone could volunteer take care of the music…car system or whatever…would be appreciated. Three conditions apply, no country, no GnR, and all other artists/genres are subject to my veto as acting NCC (NICO Cookout Commando), unless overruled…lol.

Volunteers needed please post:

Picnic tables…Music………...Other…………

Thanks for the great response to this event, as always,

Scott
