Well the previous owner of my 240 decided to let the brake pads wear down till they were constantly squealing under any amount of speed, and when I replaced em, they were pretty much going metal on metal with the rotor. Here's my question...this weekend I swapped all four sets of pads with KVR Carbon Kevlar brake pads, and if anyone else has these, was there a period recently after installation where the brakes squealed quite a bit? I'm kind of curious, because I'm hoping this sound will go away. Thanks for the help guys =)

Sometimes brake pads come with anti-squeal shims, maybe the ones you got didn't come with them?

i believe there's a break-in period too. i have ceramic pads on the front of my car, and they squeaked at first, then they got situated and the squealing stopped.

Mine did now squeek. Did you grease up the shims, springs and such when installing?

if you did not machine the rotors, the pads will never seat correctly and will always squeal

I pulled the shims off the old brake pads, new ones didn't come with em...I'll take a look at the rotors and see how they are, might need machining...if so I might just get new ones, dunno how long the guy's had these, and I don't trust him lol.

i have them - they will squeek for a while until broken in. I had them installed together with brand new brembo rotors and, like you, I was scared that there might be something wrong. After two weeks the squeeks disappeared. If your rotors are fine then you should just ride it out and break them in properly. To slowly brake-in the pads, during braking - just tap brakes b4 applying steady pressure.
