aight i'm thinkin i need new tires up front and the front usually last a while.. so why not get some new ones.. i looked aroudn and i found some kumho ecstas for 57 shipped.. and then some falken ziex's.. these will go on stock rims .. and the tire size i looked at were 205 50 15..

i just wonder what some of your experiences with these tires might be.. dont care about road noise or comfort.. just grip , how hard the sidewalls are. stuff like that.. thanks for any input

Ecsta Supra MX I hear are nice, but yes...Falken Azenis Sports are NICE. I have 205/50/15s on my S13 and they are nice and grippy. Great for daily driving (a little noisey and suck in torrential rain) and have stellar grip.

better go 205-55-15, its better for gearing/speedo and load index for our cars. get the falken azenis st-115 for a good daily driving tire that sitcks when you need it to, or for a more all-season tire, the ZE-512 are good, but not as grippy.

I dislike kumho, except the MX, which is a good gripping tire for the money.

well this is only for the front.. the rears are usually 205 60's which is still stock sidewall . this is just for the front so i can slam it .. also i cant spend more than 150 mounted.. so i cant afford azenis sports.. another thing about the azenis is that might be too much front grip compared to the back b/c the back is alwasy used crap tires for 40 bucks.. so thats why i was lookin at sumthin that would keep me balanced..and is in my budget.. the 57 a piece kumho's shipped to my house , then about 20 for them mounted and balanced puts me under the 150.. azenis would be way over plus will unbalance my car...thanks for the input though.. anything else still helps

Which Kuhmo ecsta? They have a few under this name. The MX perofrmed nearly as well as the BFG KD's which is considered by most, to be the best gripping street tire(non-race compound). It's a lot cheaper and actually out performs the KD in the wet and in braking according to Tire Rack's testing. I had a set on the S14. It was definitely a grippy tire. I'm not sure how well it holds up under heat and through heat cycling though. I never took the car on the track with them.

The Kumhos held up to multiple laps in Kuah's Z32 with 100 deg. ambients.

Can you please elaborate on what was so bad about them. I've also been looking at these as replacements for my daily driver.

They have no dry grip and I had BETTER wet weather traction with my half tread Falken Azenis Sports.

Which Ecstas? There are at least 10 different ones.

I just put a set of Falken Ziex ZE 512's on my car (P205/55R15), and they are some awesome, sticky tires. I don't know what happened with you Nismo_Freak, but my tires are really nice. And as for wet traction, they rocked out really good today driving at 75 mph in heavy rain, no light front end at all like with my old tires.

No Problem, they should work just as well in the 60's. I hope you're as happy with your tires as I was with mine, because these are some really good tires. Take Care...

I went from better tires to the 512's when I went 5-lug cause thats what was on the wheels.

Never again...

I think the Ziex 512's are incredible bang for the buck. Got mine all 4 mounted/balanced for 200. They're grippy enough to chug me around with my old KA, but I did make em squeal like pigs when going through some turns at moderate speed. They like to spin a bit now that I've got my SR. But I got used to driving on Potenzas and had to get the 512's since I was on a tight budget at the time. But incredible bang for the buck.

I had Kumho Ecsta Supra's on my S14 and they sucked balls. I personally love Yokohama AVS ES100's for daily driving tires.
