I had the Kumhos, and I thought they were amazing. Really grippy in dry, and pretty damn good in the rain too.

Todd, check out http://www.discounttiredirect.com. I bought my 615s from them on the cheap. I dont think they carry federals though.

The federal 595RS has big tread blocks...lots of street cred fo shizzle

lol

I had kumho ecsta mx before... the are the best I had but it's not like I had many tires before. The ones I had before was ES100 which seems to be less grippy as the 1st few thousand miles pasted.

The kumho Ecsta MX is grippy at a decent price... aroun 130$ a pop shipped from tirerack

The federal 595 RS seems to offer the same traits: low price and high performance

ecsta mx has nothing on the rs. RS just grips like no tomorrow, doesn't get greasy after a few runs, nice overall.

Any locals wanna check it out should roll by CSCC autox practices & championships (you can only ride along during practices, though). Next one is July 7th @ cali speedway. Just look for the grip of 240's there, haha - one of us runs 595rs, one runs rt615s, & I think one of us runs MX's (if it's not bald and replaced already). It's not fair comparing these MX's tho bcs they are about 20-40mm smaller in width than the rs & 615's we run. I run whatever I can get my hands on (car & tire wise).

How do they do out on a road racing track though? Can't compare tires used in auto cross to tires used out on the track.

For the size wheels I have been using, I gotta say it has been one of the best bangs for my buck...I'm not saying it's the best, but for that price, I was able to afford BEATING the living hell out of them.

For road racing, we've only had customers come back w/ reports on the SS595 series, which those of whom have driven on the MX's also greatly prefer the ss595 over the MX. The RS, not yet - most of our customers don't buy that tire.

From our own personal tests (nothing scientific, etc), both the ss595 & 595rs stay sticky & love heat.
