I was wondering if anyone else has encountered any low speed hum while running on Kumho Ecsta MX's. They are 225-45/17 front on Work VS/XX 17x7 +35 front and 245-45/17 on 17x8 +35 rear (the rears are almost to the wear indicators). It happens from 5-20 mph, like a cyclic whu-whu-whu. I cannot find any rubbing around the rims. Last weekend I when had my Azenis (225-45/17 on 17x7.5+30 and 17x8.5+40) on there was no sound, so I don't believe the hubs are bad plus there is no bearing play.

I used to have a set of Yokohama AVS ES-100s that make horrible noise as they got close to wearing out and after I installed my Cusco pillow ball mounts. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this with the Kumho's.

My buddy is getting a set intalled this afternoon, so I'll ask him if he notices anything tonight.

i think a lot of tires will make more noise when they are close to being worn out. I noticed a huge difference when i replaced my worn out avs-es100's. those things howled like banshee's on the highway. the fronts were almost corded, the rears were at the treadwear bars.

I just got mine on Friday and they aren't loud at all. I assume they'll get louder as they wear.

I did read some reviews of how these tires sometimes become "out of round" at the end of their life. Not sure if that's true, but it may be happening to you.

All I know is that they hook like a sum bich. I used to not have any traction in 2nd, and now they bite all the way. Even brake boosting in 2nd they hold solid. Awesome tires so far.
