The folks at Tire Rack are absolutely the best and go out of their way to help a customer. A few months ago I bought new wheels (BBS) and tires (Pirelli P Zero Rosso Assymetricos) for King Karl from Tire Rack. I did the 5,000 mile rotation just last week

Yesterday morning (Thursday), I ran over piece of broken concrete that fell off of a dump truck I was behind on the on-ramp to I-75. I was very fortunate because I had nowhere to go as the cannon ball sized missle bounced toward the front of my Q. I did managed to swerve to the side of the ramp enough to avoid a dead-on hit (the good news). However, I ran over it with my rear passenger-side tire when it came down (the bad news). Obviously, it destroyed the Pirelli. I put the Barney Oldfield spare on and continued to work, still suffering sever pucker factor.

After checking around, I called Tire Rack and ordered a tire from them Thurs. at around noon. They drop-shipped the tire (via ground) to the installer I designated and it arrived at noon on Friday (today). I was off the ring-bouy spare and back to happy motoring by 2:30 p.m. this afternoon.

Here is the kicker. I tried local vendors and those who could even find my tire wanted $60 more than Tire Rack for the tire. Another small inconvenience, none would be able to get it before Wed. of next week, at the earliest. Kudos to the folks at Tire Rack.

The next time I need almost anything round for the Q, I will not waste time. I'll go directly to Tire Rack.

I agree,,,I've had only the best from tire rack.

Did you get the company or plate from the dump truck that tossed the crete???? I believe they are liable for any damages.

No, unfortunately I was too busy reacting. Traffic was heavy and I was occupied with getting out of harm's way. I was hoping someone who witnessed would get that info and bring it back but no luck.

Tomorrow i am going to drive around the area we were in and see if I can locate the job site. It must be sizeable as the truck was over-full.

i've heard that most places will take care of the damages without much grief. try to remember as many details as you can.....what kind of truck, color, did it have a cover over the back, exact time of day, exactly where it happened, etc. the more facts you can produce, the better.

Nice work, Karl (and TireRack)!

Did you make your order through the link on NICO? If so, I'll let Dan (manager) know on Monday when I talk to him of your good experience.

Hitman:

I sent an e-mail to customer service to thank them and let them know how much I appreciate their super service but didn't think to identify myself as a Nico Club member. When I was looking at wheels and tires, I did use the link on this board to identify them and bookmark their website. Their sponsorship of NICO Club and participation in several wheel/tire threads that I found on this board were major factors in my decision to buy my wheels and tires from TireRack. This, and their dedication to service is why I will use them exclusively in the future. Please feel free to pass these comments on to Dan.

Blake Bauer [email protected] was instrumental in checking the CAD drawings to ensure the Supperleggera 18x9 +35mm wheels fit my wife's FY33 correctly. It is not a specified wheel for that car, but I had an idea it would fit. In fact, the OZ distributor told me it woule not.

Blake's careful investigation confirmed the fit. About 3mm clearance from the strut.
