I installed my KTS coilovers just in time for this gorgeous columbus day weekend. The foliage up here is amazing (North central CT). So I figured I'd do a little bragging and show you guys some install pics and some pics of the car altogether.
Regarding the KTS coilovers, I am EXTREMELY happy with them...very impressed with build quality. They've completely eliminated body roll altogether from my car (I also have S/T anti-sway bars f/r, STBs f/r, nismo subframe power brace, projectsilvia tension rods, aluminum collar subframe spacers, etc etc). Right now I have them on the softest setting for damping and under only a little spring preload for the front/rear. They're stiff but by no means uncompromising--i took them on pretty rough (albeit extremely fun) roads today and they were up to the task. On the softest settings they feel similar in "harshness" to my old tokico blue/eibach pro kit setup, but I know these things can get a lot stiffer. I'm also really impressed with how they soak up bumps. They're just a quality shock absorber altogether-the car isn't bouncy, bone-jarring, etc...it just feels unbelievably well. It really handles like a go-kart. Needless to say my brother ('98 chipped A4 1.8t with bilstein shocks and h&r springs, extremely good tires, etc) was very impressed. I'm fortunate to have a lot of nice mountain roads around me to test it out on, and so far I'm completely satisfied. It's amazing how much of a difference coilovers make from just a shock/spring combo...
Anyway, on to the pics!
Hard to tell but in the next picture the rear wheel is actually completely off the ground (yep, that's as far as these babies extend). What's more astounding is that the rear wheel is off the ground after only 6 swings of the jack, when the jack is on the FRONT jacking point...
I live in the middle of nowhere--but that's a good thing!She rides flat---very flat.
