if you are buying coil-overs you may as well get ones with pillowball mounts. tien super streets do not come with pilowball mounts they are extra, and for the price you'd pay after you may as well get flex type, i have heard more horror stories about k-sport than any other coil-over in production, and i have heard nothing but good things about powertrix, so i'd say go powertrix.Touge-Z32 wrote:Between these entery level coilovers, which is the best for the cash and is most dependable? I saw Ksport in a mag and wondering if it would be worth it as Powertrix seems to be the best deal.
Also does pillow ball mounts really matter in performance as Im a newb in suspension game.

The Race coilovers are also a little beefier.Weber3211 wrote:most people will probably tell you powertrix.
The big issue with this is your limiting the travel the shock piston has, which will definetly make a difference in ride quality over a coilover which is able to maintail full travel since the ride height adjustment doesn't effect it.nd_aussie wrote:or you can try what i am doing right now and spend 53$ on some ebay ones and get a set of real nice shocks. lower your car 4 inches haha. heard they were amazing from a few people. i feel that some things just have labels on them and your just paying for those. up to you. but if your a newbie id try the ebay ones. i mean whats 53$ compared to 1500$for almost the same feeling. up 2 u. the ebay ones will go lower than tein or any suspension ive seen. and youd have much more money left over to buy the arms you will need to correct camber. and you could get some more xmas presents for you or your family haha
Won't the Ultra-lite be too arsh for street use?nd_aussie wrote:tried all . power trix def the best all around and if you have the money get the track ones. go all out Ultra-lite Coilovers 1500 dont forget the adj contol arms etc
i have megans and have run them for well over a year now, and they are great.85cartagena wrote:Are megan coiloverS good? I saw a thread here along time ago about Megan adj. control arms and it was nothing but horrible feedback. There was even a picture of a megan RUCAs where it was showing the rupture on the welds, so this makes me think that the coilovers may not be that reliable. Now between D2s and megans what would you guys go for?
I have the race coilovers from powertrix which for all purposes really are about the same. And I daily mine just fine.pintovit wrote:

I really like what I've been reading about the powertrix... I just miss the EDFC functionality in them. Maybe I'm concerned about something I don't really need.
For S-chassis yes. For Z-chassis, moot point. Z32s have camber adjustment through an upper arm. S-chassis has camber/pillowball plates for camber adjustment. However, it still has it's benefits on a Z32. For one, less flex in the upper mount area, resulting in better resonse.Ace2cool wrote:Pillowballs= better camber adjustment.
You can lower the car without anything but in order to get it aligned back properly you will need to get adjustable front control arms and rear and adjustable tension rods (unless you go with Z1's street fuca's)kid300 wrote:i know its been a while since this post has been active. But i have a question. When dropping our 300zx on coilovers. Do you need c/c (camber/caster) plates? ive heard if you drop it more than 1.5 inches than you will need them. I just want to know before i throw my coilovers on! thanks to anyone that may look at this thread agian haha
