So this car ive had him my back yard had some k sport coil overs. I cant tell what model though, they look brand new, there not even dirty, very clean looking and the car was stiff as hell all four wheels, so i don't believe they were blown.

I have a few questions about these, as i did not buy them and have no info about them. i tried there website but like i said earlier i don't even know what model they are.

they look just like this:

Front ones look like dis

Rear ones look like dis

Anyways i have a few questions about them. are they oil or gas filled? from what i see there fully adjustable, I also have no clue how to adjust them. Couldn't find any tools in the car for them. If i were to install these which part of it would i adjust it to make the car lower? there are two ways to adjust them. one on the bottom of the shock and another on the body of the coil over.

does anyone have these? how are they? do they beat the living hell out of you in town or are these meant for track use only?

i just double posted since its pretty dead in the wheel and suspension section. bad me bad

well that's good to know! but im not gonna track my car. its just i have them. there here. i want my car lower. its convenient. i don't car about compression rate or w/e if i get better corning in an out of town cool w/e. im not looking into them as for track use.

like i said earlier they were on my car in the back yard. and im looking to lower my DD and even it out a little with some rims.

as long as they dont break and fall off or blow when im driving im fine with them. i thought they were deffinitly better than stock. its not like i wasted my money or nothing.

thanks for telling me loverboy

because if they're brand new you can sell em for almost enough to get pbm or stance or even megan would be better then k sports. if you install em and they blow they are worthless to sell and you're sitting on blown suspension

i'd get them for super cheap but i wouldn't pay a lot of money for used suspension.

How many of you idiots saying you LIKE your KSports have actually ridden in a car with coilovers OTHER than the KSports you have? I've ridden on Megan's (crap), KSports (HOLY S*** CRAP), GC+Koni (awesome), Tanabe SEVEN (omfg sex), Tein HE/Super Drift (meh), and JIC (decent).

Stay away from the lower teir (sub $900) and you should be fine. F*** that endura-tech nonsense and arizona Z car BS also.

well if they are s***ty then why would someone buy them for that much? i see that you can get them new for like what, 800 or 900. when i buy parts from an individual i never pay full price even if it is brand new never used. personally id rock them if i already had them. fact of the matter is they are used no matter how you look at it, they are installed on a car already. but id definately go with pbm hands down if i was gonna buy some.

i got hks hypermax d's personally.

I have ridden in a car with other coilovers before. CUSCO, HKS HYPERMAX or something like that, OHLIN, AND TEIN. I LOVE the ohlin and cusco. but again ... I like my ksport cuz its cheap and it still does its job .... I mean .. I got them for 600 BNIB... last me almost 2 years ..... track them, canyon run, DD ... they are okay for what they are worth! I dont have 2Gs to drop on brand new coilovers .... so yeah thats why I like my ksport ....

you are right about people giving a one-sided opinion on ksport ride quality after swapping out their stock blown suspension but you're kinda comparing apples to oranges. K-sports of course are most likely gonna feel like s*** compared to a set that costs almost 3x the price.

you get what you pay for and a lot of the people that buy megan/ksport etc. usually just want a decent beginner suspension.

cheap coilovers are usually bouncy and under-dampened, and the adjustment knobs don't do a whole lot..but will they make the car handle and look better? definitely.

and i personally don't think the ksports would be as bad as some ppl are saying. Like others have already said, if they are selling for 800 bucks and they were all blown within months I don't think they would be for sale much longer.

i have megan track coilovers and i like them.it isnt really that bouncy, i actually like it.

i know when megan first came out with coilovers i heard lots of people were talking about them breaking but then as more was made i heard less complaints. Lots of people said they would suck for drifting but then i seen many drifters using them and no problems.

lol i know you're not gonna get enough for better coilovers with em, but if you sell em for 500-600 to get pbm thats like getting em for half off. i did miss the part though that they were already installed. i thought the op was asking if he should install em and they just came with the car.

Click on the link that says "Download owner's manual." They all pretty much adjust the same way.

I have owned 3 sets of K-Sport coilovers on 3 different cars: 94 Camry, 99 Solara, and now my 93 Hatch. I purchased all three sets new and have never had one single issue. And before you say that I have not owned anything else, I went through 2 sets of JICs (yes, two) on my Solara and a set of Teins on my 240sx.

I blew 2 cartridges on 2 sets of JIC coilovers on my solara. JIC wanted $450 for a cartridge, and that was if I was going to install it myself. For the price, you cannot beat K-Sports. I have had no quality issues to date whatsoever. If you have seen my build thread, you know that I don't purchase knock-off parts, and I have been very satisfied with my K-Sports on all three of my vehicles.

I can agree with the argument that they may not be the best coilovers money can buy for the track, but for a daily driven car that wants an aggressive stance that you can adjust to your liking, K-Sports fit the bill perfectly IMO. Great customer service as well, highly respected in the Toyota community.

I will also add that the ride is stiff with K-Sports, but it is not bouncy in the least bit.
