What would it take to make a Q45 sound like this:

That car is equipped with a Kreis-sieg exhaust:

Is your question serious? I wouldn't want my Q to sound like that. No way.

Easy. Just add 4 more cylinders, a flat crank, matching cams, and an open exhaust with straight through mufflers. To get the fast revs, besides the flat crank, you should use a very light flywheel/clutch.

A V12 transplant.

While the performance in a straight line might be thrilling, the question is why would one want a luxury performance sedan to souind like that?

Car: lots of unique hot rods, and customs, with modern engines, and a good truck to pull the trailer.

Add a roots blower, and some really high cams, or just find one of the indy motors, and put all of it in there, then and only then would it sound anything like that.

No... but you could make it sound like this:

A 180° header setup would definitely make it sound similar and a flat plane crank would almost certainly do it.

That Lambo sounded absolutely awesome. It would definitely be sweet to make the VH sound the same... though I don't think it would seem quite right that noise coming out of a big luxury car. Would be awesome in a VH powered Z32 though.

Hey, I dig the sound of really high rpms and being able to hear the air not only leaving the engine, but coming in too. I guess that comes from when I had my Ninja 750. My old camaro (that I sold) with a warmed over 350 sounded awesome at 8000rpm. The engine was done building power at 7000, but it just sounded sooooo good up there. My friend owns the car now and the 3/4 clutch pack is fried in the trans and the engine is ready for a freshening. But anyway, if you could build the VH engine with some good billet steel rods and ultra light pistons, you could probably rev it to 9000rpm safely and it would sound slightly similar to that lambo (yeah, you'd need a good free flowing exhaust and full length headers would help a lot).

PRESS RELEASE

V8 power from the radio

in.pro. presents the Virtual-Motor

* Virtual engine sounds from the car hi-fi system * Just plug it in * Four possible types of sound: Italo V8, 6-cylinder-Boxer, Rallye, Monoposto

Be it a revved-up V8 Italian super sports car, or the distinctive six-cylinder sound of a boxer engine, the sound of the engine forms the character of a car and ideally makes your hairs stand on end just by starting the engine up. Thanks to the new Virtual-Motor from in.pro. every driver can now experience this indescribable feeling, without having to spend a fortune on a new sports car. Thankfully it is easy to attach and does not represent any problems that cannot be overcome by anybody. Simply remove the car radio from the slot, insert the sound module of the Virtual-Motor into the ISO plug and run the supplied cables to the engine compartment to pick up the rpm-signal. Done! It is not necessary to do much of a setup, all you need to do is set the individual idle speed. The further operation of the unit is controlled by the supplied mini remote control and the sound is emitted via the radio loud speakers.

With the press of a button you can choose from four different engines. In a split second the car can therefore acoustically have an Italian-V8, a 6-cylinder boxer, an engine of a rallye car or a formula car under the bonnet. Guarantees looks of amazement!

A much more ingenious device is called the Vroombox.http://www.vroombox.com/vroombox/

Once installed, the VroomBox monitors your engine’s RPM and load constantly, so when you step on the gas or shift gears, your new engine sound follows perfectly. Through speakers mounted under the car, the sound of the engine will be heard loud and clear by those around you. It all works automatically, from the time you start your car until you shut it off, with manual or automatic transmissions. And when you are ready to go back to driving a minivan, just switch it off, for that original “stock” sound.

That car sounded a little gay when it was revving. But that fly-by sounded DANGEROUS! It was like an air raid siren. I liked the way it sounded then. But the first scene of it revving wasn't my cup of tea.
