I ran into this new company selling Ceramic Ball Bearing Turbos and claiming to be same or better than Garrett. What do you guys think? GT2871R for $650.

When I looked, it was $800. I would be sketchy on these, just like the Godspeed ones. Like it was stated at one point, if our turbos were easy to access, I think more people would try them. For the price, I think most of us will stick to Garrett or a turbo that have been proven.

I agree but I spoke to them and they are willing to go $650 a piece. The compressor wheel is billet and they are claiming their bearings are aerospace 200,000 rpm rated bearings. But again as you said I see no detailed info or comparison test against Garrett. Just wanted to share with community.

Can get Precision turbos for $800 and they are beyond proven on the strip and street. Not bashing just comparison.

I agree.. I can't blame Z32 owners for not trying them either... No one will ever catch me trying them its just not worth the hassle IMHO.

Does Precision make T25 turbos? All I've see is T3/T4's.

I am just searching for turbos again. I was able to land a deal on 2 Disco potatos for $1200 but when I got them one was .64 A/R and the other .86 A/R with a lot of side play. The guy who sold me the turbos said all BB turbos have side play which I don't believe. Long story short it took a lot of hassle to get him to return. I don't know what was he thinking by sending me two different turbos when I told him its going on a Z32 TT setup.

Easy way is to just get the GT2871r kit from SZ but I was pondering on other options.

I don't believe they do. I had to modify my Inconel manifolds to get the T3s to fit. I'm running the 5454 with .63 a/r

I need members help to figure out the right Turbo for my setup.

Platform: Rebuilt motor with Wiseco and Eagle rods, etc.
Power Goal: 600whp

Option 1: Somebody offered me JWT700BB for $1863 shipped. These have .64 A/R exhaust for better spool. Around one year use with 3k-5k miles on them. Still look new.

Option 2: GT28R $975 each new. http://www.frsport.com/Garrett-GT2560R- ... MgodviUA2g

Option 3: T28R $840 new. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Nissan- ... 51&vxp=mtr

I can't understand the difference between GT2860RS and T28R sold for S15. Both have .60 A/R compressor and .64 A/R Turbine.

I need to make decision within two days if I want to go Option 1 otherwise they will be sold to someone else.

Alright guys I picked up two GT2860RS for $1074. They supposedly have 7-months of use. Since these are not setup for z32 I will have to modify the wastegate bracket to make them work on z32.

Part #: 739548-5001
Part #: 739548-5010S

I will have to run custom inlet and outlet pipes. Does anyone know if there's going to be any issue?

Look what I bought today :D. Balanced Performance ceramic coated 3" Down-pipes. Seller says he paid $1500 8 years ago. I got them for way cheaper :dblthumb:

Nice snag on the turbos but idk about those downpipes. Those look like 2.5" to me, maybe I'm wrong. But either way, the taper looks harsh and that 90* bend is no bueno, there are much better designs out there now.

Garrett turbos came in today and they both look nice. I happen to have a eBay T3 turbo for miata that I compared with.
Garrett is .60 compressor - .63 Exhaust. T3 is .60 compressor and .63 exhaust.

I noticed that the GT2860rs don't keep spinning as shown on youtube videos which made me doubt if these are genuine dual ball bearing or journal bearing?

I tried to spin Garrett and T3 and the eBay T3 journal bearing spun tad longer than the Garrett GT28s.

Here are the part numbers. When I look them up they both come up as Disco potato Dual ball bearing.
