Just an FYI because there are 2 part numbers floating around out there that would fit the CA, the JDM specific and the USDM (both the wider racing version, the $300+ version of the Koyo for the S-Chassis).

Here's an email I sent Koyo:

"Hi,

I have a 93 Nissan 240sx I will be swapping a CA18DETinto. I will be purchasing a Koyo racing radiator(R-model) and am curious as to the difference in thepart numbers.

89-94 240SX S13 KA24DE R1276 (USDM part no)88-90 SILVIA S13 CA18DE/T R020172 (JDM part no)

I know the USDM part will fit both engines as theradiator mounts are the same and the inlet and outletpassages are on the same sides (USDM passenger side).

I'm just curious as to whether or not there isactually a difference in the radiators and if so whatthat difference is. I've noticed on a few Koyodealers' websites a price difference between the two.

thanks,

-Matt"

Response today:"___Dear Matt,

The R020172 is an old part number that I have not seen in stock for a while now. By comparing the Drawings, it looks as if the only visible differences are 1) on the R1276, there are 2 marks on the bottom tank, engine side. They may or not be fan shroud mounts. It looks as if the R020172 does not have these same mounts. 2) The drain plug placement is on the engine facing side of the tank, lower left, where the R1276 has it on the bottom of the tank. All other measurements look the same. I hope this helps.

Yeah...that's the one I'm going to order. Have you heard any issues of re-using the stock radiator cap? I heard the radiator doesnt come with one.

I'm currently running a stock, KAE radiator (single core). Although the car never overheats (it's never seen more than 195 degrees since the rebuild), my temps do fluctuate alot. It didn't do that last year, but I've since moved the intercooler and added an oil cooler. I think I'm going to have to join the KOYO club soon. I'm also running a Z32 TT radiator cap. It's stronger (more psi) than stock, but not as high as the NISMO unit. I haven't had any problems with it and it's WAY cheaper than the NISMO one.

Koyo R1276 + Nismo Cap ftw

With the R1276, that cooling panel, and my oil cooler, I ran my radiator 1/2 full (leaking headgasket) and my temp gauges (stock and Autometer on upper rad hose) never went past half!!

LOL, is that a Rigid Racing cooling panel? If so, I have the same exact one!

I have the KA Koyo with a cusco cap. ER racing Aluminum cooling panel. I bought it when it first came out for 89. Way expensive, but it works, and thats enough for me.

Haha. Yeah, but I decided to get it off his site ($35) and pay for shipping and insurance instead of waiting to save a couple $$$.
