Found this on craiglist. Emailed the person asking if it was standard, how much mileage, then she replied ....

"The car is still for sale. It is in perfect shape. It has noscratches, dents and it was never involved in an accident or somethinglike that.1997 240 SX Nissan. There has been nothing altered in the kms represented on this vehicle. The vehicle's transmission is smooth with no pings or worrisome noises. The engine is mechanically sound and can be driven anywhere with confidence. I have a clear title and it is on my name. I am forced by a bank loanto sell the car so I need to do that. Don't worry, theloan does not involve the car.My final price is $2900.I will take in consideration only those buyerswho are really interested in buying the car, to be sure that I don’twaste my time with endless discussions. If you are interested in buying it we will use eBay Vehicle PurchaseProtection to complete the sale."

PICS

EDIT: Yes i know its a scam....

its a scam. seen the same ads on ri and they got flagged. the car is definately worth more than that.

plus it has an SR swap. which alone is almost as much as the asking price.

unless you can see the car in person its likely a scam. especially if they dont want cash but want you to send the money online .

Total Scam! Flag the listing (if not done already) and move on. Don't even think about sending money if you can't actually "touch" the car!

You just had an encounter with a would be online "Thief!"

I found that same CL ad on the Hampton Roads section. I emailed her and get the same reply. I replied back asking for a phone number.

This is the email [email protected] the person replied with and also sent me this photobucket http://s667.photobucket.com/al...issan/.

Just to add to the proof that it is a scam, this car is also listed on the indianapolis craigslist. Promptly flagged.

my dad had those experiences too. We tested the seller by saying that we couldn't pick up the truck and my relatives would come pick it up. In the end the seller said for us to show up in portland, Oregon in less than 12 hours on a wednsday night.

That same car's been on craigslist for two to three years now. I remember it when I was still looking for a car.
