that is HORRIBLE.i was pissed when i wrecked mine and it wasnt as bad.you can always buy it back from the insurance company and part it out. or take your aftermarket parts out and throw the old stuff back in

i dont think they would check it for aftermarket parts. i mean if they are not paying you back for them with the check youll be getting then it shouldnt matter.if you have coverage that will add value based on parts then i wouldnt lol

well based on the condition of the front i dont think it would matter much. if you dont want to buy back your car from the insurance company it would probably just get hauled off to the crusher or a yard

To some it may look totaled and to some rebuild able, it all depends on your living/financial situation.

I would be probably crazy to rebuild it, , looks like a nice kouki plus from Cali, and looks like stock KA.

Sorry for your lost, If it going to be totaled.Have you though about replacement? What would it be 240sx, or Z33, or V35.If $hit like this would happen to me i would probably get an older Z33, and drop an RB26 in .

not true (at least from my experience). when my s13 was in an accident they adjuster looked at all aftermarket parts and modifications to get the total value of the car, its it obviously can't be given the value of a stock car. they take the value of the car with mods and calculate how much it would cost to get it back to that modded state, not stock. if they cost of repairs is more then teh value the car is totaled. if you want the parts thoguh grab em, but you won't get compensated for them

Wow,

I am very sorry for your loss man.

Honestly though. I would start pulling stuff off of it now, Before they tell you that you are not aloud to. Like cluster, speakers (maybe), them seats for sure. Shift knob anything u can get to in the engine bay. Anything that is of value that you can sell or reuse and then hide it at a friends house.

But that is just me, cuz i am crazy like that. Good thing you had a stock steering wheel with airbag.

Good Luck in whatever you do, and keep us posted.

One Love,

Ghasty

If I ever wreck my 240, and it gets totalled, I'm grabbing everything off of it, probably even as far as drop in a single slammer. In my case insurance doesn't know about the parts, and why wait until it is totalled for them to find out and go through the hassle of trying to get compensated for? I'll just swap everything from my parts car over and when I get a new shell rebuild it with my old parts.

OP, sorry about your loss, but never follow someone going through a yellow/red light. I saw an xterra get messed up when it was tboned like that. Good luck with whatever your next step is.

dang that sucks...whenever someone posts up pictures here of their car getting hit, the 240 always seems to be messed up and the other car only gets scuffs or the bumper falls off..

if you decide to part out i'll take them stock s14 seats if you still have them
