spooled, how reliable are ka-t's?i just went to a drag strip and damn.....240's with power are f***in HOT!

unfortunately i live in san diego....so i def cant swap an sr....

that depends on a lot. On stock internals and good tuning a ka-t can be very reliable on lower boost levels(8-10psi) even at 15+ psi the ka can be a reliable beast of a street motor but it's common sense that the engine will last longer and be more reliable at low boost levels.

I have had my kitty kat on 10-12 psi daily driven for over 2 years and over 20,000 miles. Right now I commute to college 4 times a week which is about 120 miles round trip getting around 28 mpg(30mpg driving really conservatively) At the track on a hot day at 10psi, I was doing consistent high 13's at 106mph. So far, my ka-t has never overheated or anything and that's on the stock cooling system with a huge FMIC in the front bumper lol. That ka24de is a good strong motor that works well with boost =]

Again, with proper tuning, maintenance and a conservative boost level the ka-t can be pretty darn reliable. Only complaints I've really had is the aftermarket parts that will come loose after a while, the occasional exhaust leaks that I'll have and some of the oil leaks here and there...nothing out of the ordinary or a big deal, my ka is 12 years old with 140,000+ miles so all of that is normal anyway.

**keep in mind that a ka-t is illegal in socal and a top mount t3/t4 ain't gonna pass a visual inspection for s*****

wow, youve never seen a rear difuser? (i can partialy agree about the wing though, the wing does look a little ricey, but im sure its one BAMF of a ride and the wing serves a very good purpose)

thanks, yeah good to know u are commuting the same amount with a turbo.SO how do u plan to pass smog then? take it all off when time comes?

how much hp are u getting around 10psi?
