Hey gang!

Just picked my Kouki up a month ago. Finally got around to washing and getting some pics taken. Base model so nothing fancy but I got a killer deal on it with low miles (63k). Needless to say I have work to do. Don't let the cleanliness blind you!

Clean, looks good.

What's with the low mileage Koukis lately? I found mine a few monthes ago with 30k on the clock. Seen a few others posting about finding em with low mileage too.

THIS looks good for those other dorks who want to keep a stock 240.

Japanese lights.Japanese bumper.

At least 50x better than the USA stuff.

Thanks! I picked it up from an old couple that had no clue what they were selling. They babied it for the past ten years and, "finally got tired of shifting gears." It's about as virgin and unmolested as they get these days.

Anyone got a stock rear spoiler or side skirts they want to sell me? Wingless doesn't do it for me.

Similar story for me. Old gentleman in Florida who passed away, apparently he was a sports-car lover and used to drive a sweet *** 240Z. Bought the 240 new (one of the last sold in 98, in fact...sold in January 99), babied it, waxed it, paid some nice performance shop in Florida to put on an HKS exhaust, struts/springs, cone filter, etc...and NEVER drove it.

Painted interior trim. Came out well...I might repaint it a little darker, maybe more of a gunmetal.

i mean the way im avoiding buying a base i would make it seem that way lmao. i might go for a really really nice zenki with navan bumper instead of a kouki just cause the zenkis is an se lmao.

my kouki was a base, I put sideskirts, 5 lug, fog lights..pretty expensive when it's all said and done

traldan, that looks pretty good man. Are you gonna paint the trim piece around your gauges?(the one with the dimmer switch)

yeah, 28mm tubular with thermoplastic endlink bushings and energy suspension bushings. Handling feels great, the car is way more predictable and responsive.

I basically SE-ized my base model, but a little better lol

yeah thats wht i dont wanna hassle with lmao. and the small things like white guages and intermetant wipers bothers me too. lmao. i got so spoiled having an se first. but the main thing is the 5 lugs. i would have to do that no matter wht.

haha yeah you spoiled SE guys. The work involved is not that complicated at all since a lot of the parts are bolt-on like the sway bars bushings and endlinks. Even the hubs are easy to change should only take you a few hours. But it gets really expensive buying all that stuff especially the 5 lug hubs, if I had a SE I could've put that money towards coilovers or wheels instead

yeah, i know its simple. just a waste of time and money if i could find an se for about the same price. ill just have to see.I already will prol have to do a 5 spd swap no matter if its an se or base cause the only ones i find for a reasonable price now are auto, but luckily i have a friend with a couple 5 speed parts cars both s14s. i might get a zenki se tho. its really nice.

Yeah I'm pretty happy with how it looks. Really lightens up the interior, which is one of the worse parts of S14's...car from 98 looks really dated.

Not sure what else I'll do, yet. Don't want to go too crazy or anything, just a few nice little touches.

Few more pics of my Kouki from our car show Saturday...

Heh, nothing to see there. But that makes it all okay. :D

Yea, lol. I know i'm a ricer, but my friend and I were sliding around the place. It was a lot of fun. The roads leading to the place were covered with dust, so it was so easy to slide.

Wow! And I thought my car was pretty clean! Great find. You SE owners got it good with the factory aero kit and 5-lug wheels already installed. I'm debating on whether I should go for the USDM look (front lip, spoiler, and skirts) or just put that money towards the full JDM package (both bumpers, skirts and spoiler). Of course that all comes after the SR20 swap next year! It's almost time to put my 240 away for the winter anyways...
