What's up Nico, here with my first build, or just a make my car better, thread. I first bought an s13 90 hatch as my first car. I didn't know how to drive stick so I made sure it was an auto, I got it last august in 2010. I absolutely hated the s14, the coupe shape, but later I grew to love it, well only the kouki. So I set my sights on getting one.

I went on a hunt, found a lot, I was going to trade a couple guys my s13 plus cash. Then one night, I went searching the internet. I went searching through Zilvia and found a couple. One in particular was cheap and in San Diego, that weekend, Which is this weekend, I went down to go get it.

And now I'm here. 1997 kouki salvaged title. 5 speed. It's not in the best condition, but me and my dad are going to work on it.
Cracked windshield, no grill, alignment of the front lights off, minor cosmetics.

I picked up the wing the night before, friday night. I got the Kouki wing.

Here are some pics of the day

Here we are checking it out, Moms taking pics.

Pic after we made the deal and on our way home.

Mom's and Dad's trucks X My 240's :) coincidentally both black and white.

Guy gave me this bumper, the Aero kouki rear bumper? Anyways it came with the valances. I don't want it, I am
going to get the regular jdm rear and jdm front. So if anyone wants it let me know.

So While I fix it up I'll post pics, can't wait till it's done. Feel free to comment and recommend/suggest parts ideas.

Stay tuned!

Looks good. Nice starting point. Shouldn't be long before it looks up to par.

Hey guys, thanks for the love! haaa As of right now, the engine will be left alone. I doubt I'm going to swap it, for now I want to fix all the cosmetics: lights, grill, jdm bumpers, valances, all that.

Yeah as for the rear bumper he gave me, I know nothing about it. Just that I don't want it.

UPDATE: We have gotten a new windshield $100, surrounding radio bezel $10, turn signal switch $2, and an oem usdm rear black bumper $15. :) all good prices!

I wanted to ask you guys if you knew where I can get the rear valances for the jdm rear bumper. I CAN NOT FIND THEM ANYWHERE!

And is 400 a good deal for the front and rear oem jdm bumpers in a pack?

NOW, Parts I still need:

Rear Valances------------How much? under 200?
Kouki grill, preferably jdm------------How much? Under 100?
Front Bumper signals-----------------------Found some new for 75. Good?

Maybe the sides, I don't know yet.------How much are these?

* and a silvia hood badge. Found one for 15+ shipping. Good?

And that's about it for now. CAN YOU GUYS GIVE ME A GOOD PRICE RANGE ON EACH OF THE ITEMS???

Here is the news on the kouki.

It's been a while, I've put the jdm bumpers on, primered them white.

Primered the wing.

And no thanks to anyone anywhere, I found the rear valances and some Navans for pretty cheap. Well the Valances I got lucky on and the navans I paid Average.

Here's the lucky find on the Valances, Can't wait, should be here on the 28th.

Here's the spraying of the bumpers

So I bought this replica wing, Before I knew much about kouki's and oem parts; before I had the car actually haaa.
Anyways, we had to custom mount it, I think it came out alright, jad to drill a few holes in the trunk. Oh well. I decided to not get the factory kouki wing and stick with the rep. as a tribute. . eh
Had to bondo it up.

Here's some nice shots to see how the progress is coming along.

My front is still off, I don't know where to start to fix it. When we were trying to align, both fenders cracked, hidden bondo only on the parts that looked cracked ( by the corner lights) oh well, I will end up getting new fenders.
Image

Got a temporary exhaust tip
Image

And Here's what I need help on, the Navans I got.

MAYBE YOU GUYS CAN HELP ME ON THIS

Image
Image

Okay, so, they fit, obviously, but I don't know what a perfect fit is. Here are some detailed pics of how they line up.

IS THIS HOW THEY USUALLY LINE UP?
Image
Image
Image

AND THE FINAL QUESTION, the clips on the inside. Do I have to drill holes on the side part that it covers? The part under the door?

It looks like the navan/zenki sideskirts mount with the same clips as kouki sideskirts. If you don't have any holes along the side of the car then you would have to drill some for the clips. Look at page BT-29 of the 97 s14 FSM it shows the kouki sideskirts.

its like $150 for the whole set of clips. so i suggest finding some at the junkyard or use something else.

Or you can just do it this way if you dont want to drill as many holes for a lot cheaper

I don't know about that gap between the sideskirts but heres someone elses with the same gap.

s14 uses H1 hid but the projectors are decent.
