1991 Nissan 240sx hatchback - Black - Automatic - 210,000 miles ka24de
Have owned the car since roughly 2006 and it has been sitting around garages and driveways ever since. It ran for a little while but would overheat, shift strangely, smoked, and only ran on 3 cylinders. Now it's built up a bit of cylinder rust.
The plans for this build include:
-Pulling out the engine/transmission (ka rebuild)
-painting and cleaning as much as possible
-rear hatch rust repair
-5 speed swap
-new wheels
-some interior upholstery work
Here's the car

We were able to push it under the darkness of night, from my house to my friend's about a mile away, where he and I will tackle this project.
This is the surface rust i mentioned before. I'm hoping that once we get the block to a machine shop they'll be able to take care of it. Worst case, i could always get a refurbished engine from ebay.

Rear hatch rust

Once we got the car into the garage we decided to do a good bit of shop vac'ing, under body was covered in webs, dead bugs and spiders. Car is lifted up on stands and we're ready to pull the drive shaft

8 super rusted nuts to get that drive shaft off, we had to use a hollowed out maglight for extra leverage
Yea, that exhaust is pretty nasty, looks like someone tried painting it and it melted all over.

Next we drained the transmission fluid and got a jack under it. Ready to chain up the engine, drop cross member, remove engine mounts and yank that thing out. Right about then we got hit by a pretty bad storm so we decided to hit up home depot for some painting supplies and the hooks needed to chain everything up.
My friend's been wanting to, for a while, make a paint booth. So while forced to take a break due to rain we picked up pvc, painters plastic, and duct tape we constructed this awesomeness when we got back!:

In it right now are 2 brackets and a headlight cover, ready to test our painting skills with. We're practicing before we tackle the front bumper and rear hatch.
Sanding the headlight and those 2 brackets took a lot more work then I had anticipated

So that's where we've got the car to now, engine is just about ready to be pulled. We'll have it out sometime before the end of this week.
Side question, anyone know what wheels these are?
