I'm stuck on making a decision. Price is pretty much the same. Any input is much appreciated. I also noticed that Tire rack is recommending 245/35/19 and not the 245/40/19's on the Moda's.

Does anyone know if the 40's will fit and will they provide a better ride on the Moda's or should I go with the 35's? I'm planning on lowering as well.

Thanks in adv

The second number is only how thick the tire is. For example a 245/35/19 tire it about 2 inches thick. A 245/40/19 tire is about 2.5 inches thick. Keep is mind, the first tire is going to be about a 1/4 inch wider than the second, because as you increase the thickness of a tire, but keep the same dimensions, it brings the width in a little bit. Like a bow effect. I would personally go with 40's because 35's have the chance of blowing out really easy and riding rough because they are so thin. I have 35's on my troubles, when I get tires again, I will go with 40's.

You answered what I was thinking. I don't know if the 40's will fit on the Moda's. I haven't been able to confirm that anywhere. The Trouble's also recommend the 35's. I'm assuming the 40's will fit with either and with the car lowered with Eibach Pro-Kit?

Still can't decide between the Moda's or Trouble's. I was even thinking of going down to the 18's on the Troubles....sigh...so many decisions....

40's will work fine. 18's will look tiny as hell on this car. The wheel wells are to big for 18's. 19's at the least.

You probably wont have a problem with 245/40/19, cuz there are a few members with 245/35/20 and thats a larger diameter and they have their rides lowered.

Open the link for a trie size calculator and you can see what your wheel size will look like. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Enjoy

One thing to keep in mind...I'm pretty sure that Konig has sold out of the Trouble's...I remember they were going to be discontinuing those wheels. You might want to confirm availability before placing any orders.

No, he took some damage to one of his wheels but fixed it. He already up the replacement anyways but hasn't needed to pick it up.

I will pick it when we get my coupe in the photo booth. We've been talking about doing this reshoot for months now. We should schedule it soon. Maybe after I rear?

We're not doing any more photoshoots in the studio's for awhile. Too expensive and time consuming.

245/40/19 and 245/35/20 are almost the exact same size... the 20" tires are like .034 inches larger... there are folks here running 245/45/19's which are even larger, and they don't rub... so yeah, he'll be fine

I agree, 18's look too small on our cars, and 17's just look ridiculous without a drop... 20's FTW!
