Koni Sport Shock Absorbers on a stock setup

My front shocks recently decided to roll over and die (84,000 miles, autox) I am on a tight budget and I was wondering if anyone has any experience installing/using koni shock absorbers with the original struts and springs. I will also only be replacing the fronts and leaving the rears stock because they are not dead.

Ultimately my plan is to have a nice performing replacement to the stock shocks without spending too much money.
