I'm about ready to go and get a 2004 350 touring ed, and I was needing some info.

First what are some know problems and fixes for the car. Second, what kinda of gas mileage is everyone seeing. I know the ratings on paper, but I want actual info from the public. And is there anything that I can do to improve mileage. Will a CAI aside from some hp gains, gain me some mileage, or cost me some mileage cause of the hp gain.

Thanks for all of the info that everyone reports!!!!

There haven;t been any real problems with the 350Z Just a few minor annoyances, include Some 03's had a minor correctable alignment issue that caused some feathering on the front tire tread. There was a recall on it.

Some Z's get a narrow greasy looking stripe on the side windows caused by some lubricant in the power window motor. And if you get a Z without the nav system. that area becomes a small storage area with a very cheap door. Kinda fragile. And last, the little computer that tracks gas mileage and so forth will once in a awhile spontaneously reset itself to zero. None of these little things detract from the cars fun.

As far as gas mileage. I get low-mid 20's in mixed city/highway. Mid-upper 20's on long highway trips, and about 6mpg on the race track The temptation is to obviously wind her up which eats gas, but if you restrain yourself and drive it conservatively, you can squeeze out some decent mileage. That's the trick is to restrain yourself. The car has great low end torque so you don't have to flog it (like an S2K) to get it to move.

I've done quite a bit to my intake so far (have my car a year this june), and when i get it out to play, i seem to get great, i mean great gas milage. I'll get it out with 1/4 tank and go play for about 30min and put it away with 1/8 or more. Thats getting on her the whole time and riding around in lower gear making noise and stirring up things a bit, basically driving like a complete ******* and using all the power it has the whole time.

Really by doing your intake your just going to burn more of the fuel that is already being dumped into your motor, your not going bigger injectors or anything as far as fuel goes, there fore you are not risking MPG. Your actually getting better MPG by burning more fuel thats being pumped in and not wasted. I don't know if i'm making since but i think ya may get what i am saying.

have you heard of a product called Vornado? it installs in your air intake pipe, its supposed to swirl the air for better mixture... j/k

I get 22 mpg ever since i got it last year... and the mileage keeps going up. I just installed an intake to save some gas. The only cons for me with my Z is I have no sunroof

expect to get 18-20 mpg until you get used to your car. Hope you get your Z

I get about 25mpg right now with mixed city/highway driving. I know I could get better than that, but I have only had the Z for 2 weeks and it is still just to much fun to play with lol. Also try to get one with cruise control, it will seriously help out the gas mileage and keep you out of tickets lol. That is the only thing that I wish my Z had that it doesn't.

My mileage has been terrible this past week... I did just install my new Borla TD exhaust though (plus I've been driving like a madman, so it's my fault, not the exhaust... lol) Even then, I'm getting 18-20mpg.

When driving like a good person, I get about 22-28 (on the highway) I've even made it go as far as 32 when driving about 40-45 in fifth gear.
