I have a 09 Rogue S with approx 45,000kms on it. I have noticed a knocking sound from the drivers side front wheel when turning and am wondering if it could be the driveshaft? My 3 year warranty is expired so not sure if this would be under the 5 year in parts or not. Also when I am at a stop I can feel the vehicle vibrate for a a few seconds and hoping this is nothing major. I already had the transmission replaced. I am bringing it to the dealer next week and I would like to know if anyone else has had these problems.

What are you talking about with a 5 year in parts?? Isn't it only a 3 year warranty/ 10yr/120,000 powertrain?

Are you suggesting they cover all parts that need to be replaced within 5 yrs? I've never heard that.

No but I thought there were certain parts that were covered under 5 yrs. Anyways it don't matter I will buy the part if I need too I just wanted to know if anyone has had this problem with their Rogue and what part it might be. I am just guessing it may be the driveshaft. Also I have some movement left to right in my brake pedal and I am wondering if this is normal?

Wow, not sure I want to be asking any questions with responses like the one below...

Anyway, here's the drivetrain warranty info (on the new models at least) - probably similar for earlier ones also.. seems like I read they extended some earlier models also.

I hope this is helpful.

Drive Train Warranty: In some cases the drive train warranty continues after the basic warranty has expired. This part of the warranty covers most of the parts that make the vehicle move, including the engine, transmission, drive axles and driveshaft. Like the basic warranty, consumable parts such as hoses and belts are not covered. However, most of the internal parts of the engine, such as the pistons and bearings, which are also subject to wear and tear, are covered by the drive train warranty.

No, its a knocking noise when I turn the wheel. I am bringing it to the dealer today. Hopefully it won't cost too much. I will let you know what the verdict is later.

Could someone please tell me if its normal for the brake pedal to have a little bit of movement wiggling left to right?

Is it the armature itself or the pad attached to it that's moving sideways? If it's the former, then no, it shouldn't. If the latter, then I'd say you've got a screw, er I mean bolt loose.

Okay so your saying there should be no movement at all left to right?

its normal. a few millimeters of wiggle/play was designed to make sure rust or heat expansion of the metal wont cause the pedal to ever seize in one direction.

Okay thanks I thought maybe there might be something loose holding the pedal to the vehicle.

the gas pedal will be a lot more sturdy since its attached to a sensor for the Drive By Wire system.

Well I had my Rogue at the dealer today and of course it was not making the knocking noise but he checked underneath the car and the front driver's strut bearing came apart. They are going to replace both of them. I just had them replaced in Jan so they are covered under a 1 year warranty. Hopefully I won't have to replace these every year but with the state of the roads in NB with pot holes I may have too. Anyone else get there strut bearing replaced more then once? I also needed my steering wheel boot behind the brake pedal lubricated again because it makes a noise when turning the wheel. I think they use a lithium spray. He said there is no other fix and all Rogues make this noise when the boot dries out. Anyone else have this issue?

I've noticed a slight clunk sound from the right-front corner when the vehicle begins moving. I'm going to have to get it checked out before winter hits.
