Well, I can't verify that you get any extra hp gains, but I personally experienced some torque gains. My brother had a 1990 Miata with about 60K miles on it. We punched out the cat and I could fell some increased bottom end with my "butt-meter". Grant it that my "butt-meter" is not the most accurate instrument in the world, the car before the cat was punched out would not bark the tires on a 1-2 shift at 3500 rpms, after we punched it out, it easily barked them! Some enviromental freaks will say "You are destroying the enviroment doing this" Well guess what if you cat is clogged, then you will use more gas. Also, the industries (especially in foreign countries) out there are pumping out a lot more emissions than several cars with there cats punched out.I am Technoman wrote:Knocking out your kat is not a good idea. And dos'nt get you anywere when it comes to hp gains.
