Knocking noise in middle of car 1996 I30

Hi everyone, I am writting this cause I am not sure if I should go to a garage or fi this is something that is fixable by a novice. I own a 1996 Infinity I30 with 176K miles on it. It runs perfectly minus this one problem. I started to notice about 2 months ago that when I turn left and hit any bumps in the road that a knocking sound would occur generally around the middle of the car just behind the front seats. It sounds as if something is loose maybe or I don't know. The thing that makes me scratch my head is that it only happens on left turns. Never has it reproduced the sound on a right turn. I really don;t know a whole lot about cars but I am thinking maybe the muffler but it doesn;t explain why it only happens on left turns. I would think it would reproduce the sound turning right if it was a simple muffler problem. So I come to you in hopes maybe one of you could give me your insight on it or atleast a good place to start looking. Thanks

I think its a wheel bearing or something like that..... Maybe, Ive heard of stuff like that with similar symptoms.... Thats the only thing I can come up with off the cuff
