Every since i've owned my RB i've notice these brown wires havent been connected to anything. well, i was talking to a local guy once when my friend bought a Sr20 from him and he mentioned them being the knock sensor wires. So about a week later i connected them to the wires from my knock sensor. one was the same brown wire with a ground in the middle and the signal wire on the outer side. the other knock sensor just had one B/y wire coming from it. But anyways here is a pic of the side harness or whatever it is. can you guys tell me what i can do to fix this. i've never noticed difference in performance when these were connected or not. so im guessing the ECU read that they weren't connected the entire time of me driving the car?

If the pictures are good enough i can get more. from my digital camera. i just didnt wanna make a run home from the shop to get it, so these are off my phone.

sorry man. I can't help, but I can say this:

I've also not had these connected in my car for over 2.5 years now.

I can't say whether it's good or bad, I'm not sure (you can usually hear bad knocking anyway).

The 6 way gray plug goes to the matching plug in the main harness, obviously. This plug is near the 8 way injector sub harness plug. The blue two way plug goes to the air regulator under the intake manifold. The plugs to the knock sensors are round single wire and are missing from your harness. Those plugs have shielded wire to the sensors, the shield splits off at the 6 way plug therefor using 4 of the six terminals for the knock sensors. The remaining two wires are to the air regulator. You will need to look at a wiring diagram to know which knock sensor is front and back.

For the wire colors/ connector positions google the rb25 wire diagram. It will show everything. For the missing connectors, find a 1989-1994 maxima gxe KS harness. Their knock sensor is the same as ours.
