I have a code 34 from my scanner on my 94 Q ....
i unplugged the 6-pin connected while running.. (knock sensor connector) and car stalls... it wont start either with it unplugged? is this normal? i know a the car will run without them on a low octane map by default... but am i doing something wrong? it should run without them. unless theirs more to it? . its runs with it plugged back in.. but if i have a code 34 that wont clear on the scanner it tells me there no good.. but why does car stall and not run without em??

I would think it should run with them disconnected too. Are you sure you're unplugging the correct connector? If you're basing the connector's location on the pictures on the forum, it's possible that there's an extra harness by the 1994 model year. In the picture here - http://q45.org/ohminjectors.html - it shows the knock sensor connector as the top one. But in the 1994 service manual (available at www.infinitiservicemanual.com if you don't have it already) on page EF EC 106 it shows an extra connector, and labels the KS connector as the second one down. The ECU engine temperature sensor also shares the same connector. I'm pretty sure the ECU would still let the car run without the temp sensor, but I don't know for sure...
