What is the part number for the ca18det knock sensor? I cant find one at any parts stores. I'm pinging and have white dots all over my pistons. My timing is right, I'm running 93, running stock boost and engine management. Anyone else have this problem?

sounds like genital warts, sry4U

Plugs too hot? Gas should be fine but is it getting to the motor (weak pump, dead regulator)

You should not be bouncing off the knock sensor at all, it's a safety measure not a full time control.

I'm running NGK V-Power BCPR6E-11 from a 1986 200sx ca18et. I'm not getting any loss in power in the higher rpm's so I don't think its a fuel issue. What would be a better plug?

I can get the part number for you tonight, however it is very expensive. I went into nissan yesterday (australia) and trade price for me was $342aud + tax, just for the detonation (knock) sensor...

Even the parts manager laughed....

I think the nissan number (fast) is 22060 but I have to doublecheck tonight.... I have a good memory this part number is correct...

Check the ecu error codes first (detonation sensor error will shoot up 34), then doublecheck with a multimeter, before you spend money that may not fix the issue.

Yeah i checked it and i have 500,000 ohms on it. Also with the sensor disconnected with the engine off and the key in the on position I'm getting 7 volts from it. Its strange. I'm getting no error codes either.

Yes code 55. I'm going to check my fuel pressure tomorrow. For some reason it gets louder under hard acceleration or hard turns.

No dramas, yep thats a good idea...

themadscientist might be barking up the right tree on this one... the pump may be on its way out and causing erratic behavoiur..
