A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

quick q...would a bad knock sensor cause my 200sx-ser to jerk in first and second gear? I have the CEL on and read the 0325 code, so my guess is yes.

I just aks because I seem to also have to tap the lights stem to get them back on and also when i ordered a new keyless entry clicker, the dealer couldn't program it with the ignition; said they'd have to run a check.

But again, it's the knock I'm about to replace and wonder if it's the likely cause of my SX almost stalling when at a stop light.

Thanks. -jz

Yes, it could cause that.

Given your other symptoms, you could have wiring harness, ignition, or ECU issues as well. Try replacing the knock sensor first, since it's going to be easier and cheaper than the others.

Thanks for the warm welcome and reply!

I will do that, then.

Since I will still have the other electrical annoyance to deal with, can you suggest a frugal approach to have it handled, since I'd like to get the key less working and again, and so forth?

Thx. -jz

Eh, I think the dealer was just feeling lazy. They pretty much just hook up a gizmo to your OBDII port and have your ECU "learn" the "code" sent by the fob. They do charge too much for it, but, sadly, no one makes a self-programmer.

You might ask the guys in the Nissan Online Mechanic forum. We have a few Nissan Techs who help out in there who might have better info.

thanks again for your replies.

I had the knock sensor replaced, and it threw a few more codes, one for oxygen sensor and i forget the other. i still have it like its missing badly in first, and my plugs are good. so, it has to be the fuel push or whatever, right?

i plan to ask for your help when i have the money to have the sensors replaced. i did the knock, like i said. ran me 2 bills, so i got off cheap.

question this time is...can u suggest how to quiet a noisey pulley or belt? i go to the front right side and under the car past the wheel, and there is a belt with a pulley, of course. i sprayed wd-40 on it and it quieted the noise, instantly. but, it only seems to last for a short drive them goes back.

what can you suggest to quiet this? plus, i don't want anything to go bad from lack of lube, but i'm not sure how to address.

thanks in advance. your input is a real gift.

replace the belt, if it crack or dry and make sure is the right tension.check the pulley bearing for noise and smoothness
