I pulled codes from the ecu (rb20det). It shows the knock sensors are bad I guess. My idle surges from 400 rpm to 1000rpm. It also stalls at times...Would the faulty knock sensors be the problem? My real question is, where could I buy knock sensors for the rb20det. Could I walk into discount and ask for the knock sensor from another nissan or infiniti?

Sure it's not flipped and the code is actually code 43 which the tps fault? An incorrectly set tps would cause idle rpm hunting

You could be right...It was 3 long red flashes, and 4 fast ones...I'll try setting the tps and see if that helps...

no that should be 34.... that will cause that if it is getting false knock readings..... is th engine quiet? ie- no valvetrain noise or hard rattles?

anything like that could cause it to pull timing, therefore changing idle speed and such..... search your parts interchange lists, seems like knock sensors were on one of them

I dont have any rattles I don't think...I tried setting the tps, when I would raise the idle it would just stick at 1k. I lowered it and it would surge from 500-1000rpm. I'm just going to swap the sensors out...Where are they anyways...lol.
