Can I use a S13 KA24de knock sensor harness for an S14. What Im talking about is the little harness that plugs into the main harness and runs under the intake to the knock sensor. Its about 10 inches long.??? Nissan wants 70 dollars for one.

ahh. I went to the wrecking yard to get the new harness off an S14 and it turns out the harness is actually just like that. Or its just a freak coincidence. The knock sensor only really has once plug in the harness. The black wire was just wrapped around the loom with electrical tape. Is this normal. Even the plug that goes into the sensor has only one plug. Is that normal?

You need to test the knock sensor with a multimeter capable of measuring at least 10 mega ohms

Is there a link to download the service manual like that?

Are you sure about that anlasak? The s13 and s14 models use different computer standards, OBD1 and OBD2. He will most likely get a check engine light if not something worse if the right one is not used. When I swapped a 97 KA24DE into my 91 s13 I had to switch different sensors, the knock sensor being one of them.

Kevin, go here for a manual http://www.zeroyon.com/index/content/view/24/47

Huh? Even my RR SR20DE uses the same knock sensor.

Check engine light will not come on for a knock sensor, but you will get a code 34 out of the ecu.

The harness for the knock sensor is a single shielded wire running directly to the ecu. When the piezo element detects sound of certain frequencies it will generate an electrical charge to the ecu.

They all look like this:

Youre right I was just at Nissan and they went over the part number for it. Its the same for all the Nissans even the new ones. They are all the same.
